UK
Open Ended Investment Companies

A regulatory change in New Zealand has resulted in easier access to UK managed funds, called Open-Ended Investment Companies (OEIC) which pay no capital gains tax

This provides the opportunity to invest in global assets through a pooled investment - without having to pay tax on any long term capital gains in the value of your portfolio  (this applies to investors who are not share traders).  Currently New Zealand registered fund managers pay 33% tax on capital growth and on dividend distribution.  OEIC dividends are taxed at 20%.

How will you be better off not paying capital gains tax at the Fund Manager Level?
Take a hypothetical case, a fund growing by 10% per year:

YearGrowth @ 10%paGrowth 10%pa
capital gains tax 33%
0$10,000$10,000
1$11,000$10,670
2$12,100$11,385
5$16,105$13,830
10$25,937$19,127
20$67,275$36,584

NOTE:
There is no guarantee that the current taxation status of these products will be maintained. The current taxation benefits achieved by these products is an added bonus.  If these taxation benefits were removed and the income flow/dividends and capital gain were taxed we would still recommend this product for its good risk/adjusted returns.

We can offer a wide range of UK OEIC companies and funds.

Advantages for ex-patriots living in the UK
If your New Zealand tax status is non-resident there is a great advantage investing via these OEIC funds via New Zealand.  Under current New Zealand taxation you are exempt capital gains tax even when you withdraw, in the United Kingdom when you withdraw you will be hit with tax on the capital gains.

How much do I need to invest?
You can invest in these funds for a minimum of $4,000 lump sum, or for $200 per month.
